No sign of the economic crisis – Reloop presents itself with a custom-made appearance at the Musikmesse Frankfurt. In the DJ section three trend-setting novelties made the Reloop booth become the No.1 crowd puller.
Three novelties and one special case: At the Musikmesse 2009 Reloop braced itself with surprising product innovations, an impressive booth and loads of first-class DJing against the general trend in the DJ equipment hall. For the first time important manufacturers absented themselves from the Musikmesse, many exhibitors contained themselves regarding new product developments or big trade fair appearances – at Reloop's booth none of the above could be applied.
Enormous banners at the ample booth B07 in the DJ hall 5.0 anounced the leading European manufacturer's product offensive for mixing technology: With Spin! 2, Digital Jockey 2 and the RMP-3 Reloop actually presented three novelties that turned out to be the cause for a lot of excitement during the four trade fair days.
With a born-and-bread world novelty Reloop provided for the biggest surprise: Reloop Spin! 2+ is the first Digital Vinyl System that features an interface with an integrated MIDI controller at its disposal. As brilliant as it is serviceable: With Spin! 2+ the times are finally gone when timecode DJs had to use a mouse and keyboard in the club in order to keep the mix going.
This way all important functions of the considerably improved Reloop Spin! 2 software can be managed comfortably and intuitively via hardware controller. Reloop Spin! 2, the basic version of the Spin! successor was also convincing due to a newly developed interface that features real through-ports in order to loop-in regular vinyl and the latest ASIO drivers for minimum latency.
The second surprise that succeeded was the Reloop RMP-3; in the run-up to the fair trade not a single thing had been leaked to the press. The RMP-3 is Reloop's Cross Media Player, a combination of a CD/MP3 player, a USB hard disk player and a MIDI controller.
The approved RMP operating concept now allows all DJs to intuitively control all available media formats and even DJ software. Thanks to the extensive pre-mapping for Traktor PRO the RMP-3 can be applied as direct interface for the leading software platform; with just one RMP-3 up to four decks can be controlled simultaneously in Traktor!
With the presentation of the Reloop Digital Jockey 2 the track record of Reloop's DJ software could be continued at the Musikmesse. The Digital Jockey's reissue convinced the experts with an operating concept that is tailored so precisely to Traktor PRO like no other device.
An enormously extensive Traktor PRO mapping complements the operating concept and makes the Digital Jockey 2 Controller Edition as well as the Interface Edition become the perfect partner for the world's most used mixing software. The latter comes up with a further innovation: touch-sensitive, two-part jog wheels now facilitate true vinyl-like turntablism techniques.
As supporting part at the booth there was Reloop 10tion on the one hand, an external 4x4 sound card for DJ controllers without audio interface. 10tion is based on the Spin! 2 interface design and is the ideal further development for the Digital Jockey 2 Controller Edition. On the other hand the RHP-10 special editions attratcted a lot of attention: These professional headphones as exclusive design variants CeramicMint, CherryBlack and ChocolateCrown are only available in limited quantities. An aluminium plate with the serail number displays the uniqueness of each of these gems.
Besides the technology that could be tested extensively at the six testing stations the music was of course the center of attention. As cut surface for both, Reloop's DJane K.Lectra made a big impression. On the combined Reloop-Ortofon stage she mixed her pumping electronic sound with a setup consisting of Spin! 2+, RMP-3 and RMX-40 USB, furthermore making all the system's innovations accessible to the audience in workshops. With their spectacular showcases threefold ITF and DMC champ Pro Zeiko and his DJ rear gunner D-Tale demonstrated what Reloop equipment is capable of when in full use of its capacities. Two RP-6000 and the IQ2+ USB mixer were the devices for turntablism on a world class level.
The audience was willing and able to let themselves become infected by a combination of innovative technology, inspiring DJs and a highly motivated trade fair team. The annual Reloop booth party on Thursday was the downright climax: With cool drinks, fine Sushi and mix-music that could finally be played at volumes exceeding the given limits, thus unfolding its full effect, the visitors, business partners and the surrounding booths partied on until late at night. Just like Reloop's whole trade fair-appearance 2009: A special case that wowed everybody!
